6th Grade Argumentative Essays

Do you like writing essays? Well, sixth grade does! We think that expressing our thoughts through an argumentative essay is a great way to learn to write. The students are working in groups to investigate and argue, school-wide policies, year-round school, a crisis in a Denmark zoo, or a town curfew. The students worked hard in groups of 3-5 people and were each having an assigned paragraph. Students then commented and wrote ideas for editing on each group’s essay. Finally, the students voted on their classmates essays to determine the winning essay!

The winning groups were:

05- Cameron Kubinsky, Gavin Fitzsimons, Michael Stauffer, and Emily Morris

04- Austin Spisszak, James Scialla, Andrew Lucas, Jared Spect, and Steven Ziegenfuss

03- Nolan Krieger, Thomas Rutt, Connor Leavy, and Ben Vaka
